The Baron Journals is a collaborative effort between artist Randall Hasson and poet Chris Baron. This on-going project has become a multi-level exploration of materials, technique, symbolism, theory, and design all coming together in the process of creating a work of sequential art. The collaborative process of working with a poet and the implementation of the techniques with acrylic paints and inks on heavy papers in a journal format continually bring new discoveries to light for the artist, and the process of seeing his poetry come to life in a new way visually has provided new insight for the poet.

This project encompasses many of Chris’ poems to date: “Life Unworthy of Living” was the first imagery created, and can be seen in the prototype book to the left titled “…this time not alone.” Randall M. Hasson has also written about the process here.

The Baron Journals has been presented as a project around the United States and the UK Including the CS Lewis Foundation Conferences, Masterpiece Christian Arts Foundation, and Workshops in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Fe, and others.
